First email of 2026!!
Hello Swim Families, my name is Carolyn Petersen, and I’m excited to be serving as both the Admin Lead and one of the Head Coaches for this year’s summer swim league at the Wenatchee Racquet & Athletic Club!
I’ve been coaching swimming for about 10 years in a variety of roles, including private lessons for both youth and adults, as well as nine years with Velocity Swim Team, where I helped lead programming through COVID and beyond. Swimming has been a lifelong part of my life—I grew up in summer swim league (including time with the WRAC team), swam through high school, and continued recreationally in college. Most recently, I competed at Masters Nationals in Federal Way last summer, and I continue to stay involved in the sport I love.
My goal for this season is simple: that every athlete enjoys swimming, improves their skills, and has a positive team experience.
I’ll be on deck coaching two days per week and will also be helping coordinate our home meets in Waterville. I’m working with a great group of coaches this season and will be supporting their development on deck as well.
If you’re interested in volunteering beyond the minimum requirements, I would love to connect. We’re planning to hold a meeting in May to go over what’s needed to run our two home meets and the championship meet smoothly—more details to come soon.
Over the next month, I’ll also be sharing additional information, including practice expectations and introductions to our coaching staff. In the meantime, swim meet information is available on the website—please take some time to review it.
If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Looking forward to a great season ahead!
Best,
Carolyn Petersen
